Inspiration Behind the Music

Wen I became a father, I began to understand more about God’s care for his children. When my wife and I brought our son home from the birthing center, it took at least a month to get use to the fact that we could only sleep when he slept. We attended to his every need and even though we were exhausted, we made sure he knew his parents loved him and would respond to his cries for attention. Frankly, I don’t know how parents manage with twins or triplets. Thankfully our Heavenly Father has infinite power and is never exhausted, because he has a world with billions of people to care for.

It’s one thing to know that our Heavenly Father cares for us, but there is nothing better than experiencing it personally. David experienced the loving care of our Heavenly Father and from his experience he wrote this.

‘Evening and morning and at noon, I will cry aloud and he will hear my voice.’

(Psalm 55:17) NKJV

God really does hear us when we cry out to him and he will give us evidence that he even cares about what most people would call the simple things of life. I remember praying one morning about an issue I had and by that evening the issue was resolved. God did not only resolve the issue, but he gave me evidence that he had been working to resolve the problem before I had even prayed about it.

In spite of his bravery, there were times in David’s life when he was afraid. But because he remembered the times when God heard his cry, he could write this with confidence.

‘Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in you.’

(Psalm 53:6) NKJV

When our new born son cried, my wife and I gave him the evidence that we heard by responding as quickly as we could. God will do the same for his children.

David understood that God just doesn’t wait until we cry out to him before giving us the care we need. He is constantly watching over his children like a diligent shepherd watching over his sheep. This is why he could say ‘he anoints my head with oil, my cup runs over..’

(Psalm 23:5) NKJV

Like my infant son, we have many needs that we know nothing about. At times my wife and I could only guess what our son needed, but thankfully our Heavenly Father knows what we need and sometimes even answers before we call.

David was one of the greatest men of Biblical history, but when we read his words in the book of Psalm, we see that he is a lot like us. At times he struggled with fear and even doubt, but he trusted in God’s goodness. When we read God’s word we can see that our Heavenly Father watches over us for good. He has promised good to us in this life and in the life to come. David experienced much of the hardship that comes with living, but as he thought about the evidence of God’s loving care in his life, he wrote this.

‘Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

(Psalms 23:6) NKJV

I am determined to keep claiming These verses for my life, no matter the circumstance. I urge you to do the same.

    1. Thank you for your interest in my music. The track for the song I will love you still is not available because I have not included it on any of my albums. I wrote it and performed it with a choir.

The song Are you Ready for Jesus to Come is on my album Simply Hymn Volume 2. Here is the link where you can find and purchase it.
