This song was inspired by Revelation 22:12. Actually, it is a scripture song, but I didn’t quote the whole verse. I quoted part of Revelation 22:12 and part of Revelation 22:20. I pray that you will be blessed as you listen and be reminded that he is coming quickly.
Inspiration Behind the Music
In the last chapter of the last book of the bible, we read these words of Jesus. ”Behold I come quickly and my reward is with me to give to every man according to his work. “ (Revelation 22:12) For me, this is a very important verse because it gives insight into how each case is decided in the courtroom of Heaven. This is also a very important verse because it shows that Jesus isn’t coming to judge. In fact it is showing us that before he comes, judgment will be finished and every case will be decided. This is why he is bringing his reward with him. This verse also shows the reader how the reward is determined and we see clearly that when Jesus comes again, there will be no second chances. God judges everything and everyone righteously. So, in his courtroom there is no reason for cases to be appealed.
According to this verse, the reward that we receive will be determined by what we do. I am not saying that we are saved by works, but according to Jesus, our works are a result of what is in our hearts. On that day many will receive a reward that they didn’t expect. This is why we should guard our hearts with diligence. (Proverbs 4:23)(Mark 7:21-23) God is not concerned so much about what we say or our profession of faith. No: he is much more concerned about our characters and the lives we live here on Earth. In the judgment, there is really only one question being asked. Have professed believers done the will of the Father? (Matthew 7:21) So, keeping this solemn truth in mind, I want to ask us the same question that we may evaluate ourselves honestly. (2 Corinthians 13:5)
What kind of reward will you receive? Why are you certain that it is the reward that you’re expecting? Are your hands clean? Is your heart pure? How has your life testified of your belief in Jesus? Is his law in your heart? Do you delight to do his will? Jesus says that he is coming quickly, but there is still time for you and me to make Jesus the Lord of our lives. He is our Savior, but will only be Savior to those who have made him the Lord of their lives first.

Hi Neville I thought by this time you will be in San Antonio for GC Session.Your words of inspiration behind the music when you say it is not works that will save us but what is in our hearts determines our deeds.Your words remind me of something that a pastor from Inter-American Union said at the GC Session while they showed a video presentation of the union and that gentleman said something that is still impressed in my heart, It is not your profession that makes you an Adventist but it’s your lifestyle that will profess who you are.Your music always impresses the word of God in my heart. Thanx.
