Welcome to my new website. I’m hoping that you find it as aesthetically pleasing as the one before it. I’ve been told by my wife and others that it looks pretty good and I hope you agree. Special Thanks goes to Daniel Mesa for building it and teaching me how to add content. About ten years ago, when I began selling my music on line, I have desired to create and manage my own content and I’m so very happy to say that now on this new platform I can. I have already posted two devotional blog entries, posted the lyrics to most of my published original songs, edited one of the pages in the store and created and published one of my own pages. That’s a really big deal to me, especially since I’ve tried and tried to interact with my old website, but never could.
The fact that you’re here reading this, is a fact of my new found skills. Praise God! If it sounds like I’m bragging, well I must admit that I am just a little. Those of you who are familiar with my old website, know what platform it was on, but for the sake of decency, I will not mention it here. Lets just say that the developers had four years to make it accessibility compliant. I had read online that they were planning to implement accessibility for screen readers and I waited, only to have this promise go unfulfilled. I must commend the developers at WordPress for making it compatible with screen readers. I can’t say how pleasantly surprised I was when I discovered how easy it was to edit pages and post blog entries. The lack of accessibility in some software and some web based applications will always be something that we in the blind community must contend with. So it’s great when we can get programs to work without having to figure out ways to work around accessibility issues. I’m pretty sure that there will be a learning curve as there is in every new skill and I’m definitely not expecting it to be easy, but what I have now is most certainly better than what I had before.
Now that I am able to manage my own content, you should be hearing from me more often. As you browse around, feel free to leave comments on what you read and use the sharing links to share my website, web pages and blog posts on Facebook, Twitter and all the other social networks listed in the sharing options. Thank you for stopping by and please stop by often as I will be posting regularly.
