Inspiration Behind the Music
I have heard the saying more than once that all good things must come to an end. Have you ever wondered why do we expect the good things in life to come to an end? The reason may be that we have learned to accept the reality of the ups and downs of life. Many subscribe to the belief that in order for good to exist, bad must also exist. Some even take it a step farther by asserting that we cannot really appreciate good without experiencing evil. If good really needs evil to exist, Is there any reason to hope that we can find solutions to the problems that trouble our world? Why not just accept the world the way it is and do our best to keep evil from overwhelming us? However, if good can stand on it’s own, then it is perfectly reasonable to expect that at some point in the future evil will come to an end.
After the creation of our world, God said that it was good. then he made man and as the sun began to set on the sixth day, He not only said that his creation was good, but that it was very good. (Genesis 1:31) If we would just take God at his word we would see that goodness doesn’t depend on evil for its existence because at the beginning there was no evil. The whole universe pulsed with harmony and love. However the world that existed right at the end of creation is not the world we live in today. Evil abounds and is becoming more difficult to manage. Now that the problem of evil exists, what do we do? Most people whether they believe in God and the Bible or not, would prefer to believe that in every situation, goodness always wins over evil. We abhor evil. This is why most people have a very high regard for justice. Our abhorrence of evil is one of the best gifts that God gave to us, because it gives us hope that evil will not prevail and that one day it will come to an end. Genesis 3:15)
Humanity has had quite a while to solve the problem of evil and we are failing miserably. The more we try, the more evil seems to prevail. We need a Savior. Consider God’s invitation to us.
““Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.”
Isaiah 45:22 NKJV
There is no other solution for the problem of evil than it’s destruction. Only the God who made all things beautiful and good is able to destroy evil once and for all. He promises that once he takes care of it, we will never have to deal with it again. (Nahum 1:9) (Isaiah 65:17)
Now, we must choose every day to align ourselves with the will of God. It is not enough to hate evil, we must love righteousness. The kingdom of God is a kingdom of righteousness (2 Peter 3:13) a righteousness that will not be abolished. (Isaiah 51:6) It is a kingdom where God is king and all of his subjects delight in him and his righteousness. His kingdom will not pass away.. (Daniel 7:14) This song was written after contemplating the wonderful promise in this bible verse. In his kingdom, we will have eternity to forget what it was like when all good things came to an end.
