Inspiration Behind the Music

Sympathy is a very common emotion. We have all felt it. Most of the time our hearts are moved with compassion when we find out that someone we love is going through a bad situation. Sometimes it doesn’t Even have to be someone we know. Remember the last time you heard that really sad story and your heart was touched Or the time you gave to a homeless person and felt good about the fact that you could do something to help? Most of us would be willing to sacrifice a few dollars or a little of our time for a worthy cause. But what if the sacrifice required to truly make a difference Meant that we would have to experience for ourselves the very situation that we are trying to change? What if you had to become homeless in order to help the homeless? How low would you be willing to go in order to bring someone who is not as fortunate as you are up to your level?

When Adam sinned, he plunged himself and the rest of humanity into The bottomless pit of sin and depravity. Not only was Adam doomed to suffer the consequences of his fall From perfection, but the whole world which God had placed under his dominion Would have to suffer as well. The only way that sin could be atoned was for man to die, but God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believes in him would not parish, but have everlasting life. (John 3 16)

This is the foundation of all the truths in the Bible, every other truth rests upon the fact that God loved the world and gave his only son for us. But how did God give his son? Was the giving of his life the only sacrifice Jesus made? Consider these Bible verses.

“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.”
Hebrews 2:14, 17 NKJV

Jesus did not come to Earth under the best circumstances. He became like us in all things. He identified with you and I completely. He knows what it is like to wrestle with temptation. He knows what it is like to stand for righteousness with no earthly support. He knows how it feels when the friends closest to you forsake you. He just doesn’t understand from an intellectual perspective, he has experienced it first hand. He doesn’t sympathize with us from a distance, but he became just like us. this is why the Apostle Paul could declare confidently that we can approach the throne of grace boldly, because Jesus our intercessor was tempted in all points as we are. Hebrews 4:15-16)

Jesus, the Lord and creator of Heaven and Earth has crossed the chasm between eternal life and eternal death In order to restore us to the perfection from which we fell. He is the ladder that enables us to reach the gates of Heaven and our passport to eternity. How did he become all these things to us? He laid aside his divinity and trusted in his Father. In the same way, we must trust him and lay all self sufficiency aside. He became like us so that we can become Like him.
